Cholon Bill : The largest bill of Bangladesh


Cholon bill is the largest bill in Bangladesh.It is located at Natore district.Cholon Bill is a large natural wetland and known to every people of Bangladesh.It is very beautiful and big fresh water source.During the rainy season,the area of the Bill increases and touches four upazilas (sub-districts) of the Natore district.


Cholon bill looks like a sea,during the monsoon. In the monsoon season, the bill behaves like a angry snake.In that time, waves hurt the land frequently. Hakaluki Haor : The largest haor of Asia


Hakaluki Haor is situated in greater Sylhet division.It is one of Bangladesh's biggest and one of Asia’s larger Haor.The haor is consist with Kulaura, Juri and Baralekha upazilla under Moulovibazar district and Fenchuganj and Gopalganj upazillas under Sylhet district.

The total area of this haor is about 39322.422 hectors or 97166 acres.But during the rainy season its total area turns into 7000 hectors.Hakaluki Haor was an Ecologically Critical Area designated by the Director General of the Department of Environment. This haor is a protected Ramsar site of international importance for the conservation and sustainable utilization of wetlands.

The Hakaluke haor offers a very different type of ecosystem.The haor hakaluki is home of many kind of fishes,birds and animal.There are 107 species of fishes available here,according to IUCN report in 2008.But 75 species remain present day.Some species are:Chela,Dhela,Pabda,Lal chanda etc.People of this area mainly fisher man.And they uses mainly Dhorma jal,Thela jal and vesal jal for fishing.


Hakaluke Haor also home of many country bird and migratory birds.Every winter, tens thousands of guest birds of about 150 species from Siberian and other cold country flock to the haors.The One hundred and fifty species include Bright and Rose King-duck, Pati-duck, Bali Hash, Lenja, Chity, Sorali, Boikal, Nilshir Piyan, Pantamukhi, Pankouri, Buti-duck, China, Rangamuri, Black-duck, Peributhi, Chokachoki, Giria, Khonjona, Patari, Dolpipi, Water-hen, North-Giria, Dahuk, Patibatan, Common-chill, Cotton-Chill, Gergini, Cottontail, Pintail, Toughed Duck.

Its a best place for bird lovers.During the winter season huge number of bird swimming on water surface and flying over the haor area.Its really a mind blowing seen.

Tanguar Haor : The biggest wetland of Bangladesh



Tanguar Haor is one of the biggest wetland of Bangladesh.It's a beautiful natural sight of this country.Tanguar haor, lying in the Dharmapasha and Tahirpur upazilas of Sunamganj District in Bangladesh.

Tanguar Haor is a unique wetland ecosystem of national importance and has come into international  focus.The area of Tanguar haor  is about 100km2 of which 2,802.36 ha2 is wetland  including 46 villages.Tanguar Haor is the source of livelihood for more than 40,000 people.


In 1999 the Government of Bangladesh declared Tanguar haor as an Ecologically Critical Area.With this declaration,the Government takes many steps to protect the hoar.Tanguar Haor is called "mother fishery" of Bangladesh.More than 140 species of fresh water fish in the haor. She plays an important role in fish productions.
This hoar also home of many birds.Every winter the haor is home to about 200 types of migratory birds.It's a mind blowing place for take a tour.Every winter you can see many birds here.You can fishing in this hour.If you want,you can make a journey by boat.The natural beauty of the Tanguar haor attracts the tourists and the haor can be turned as an significant tourist place.I want to invite you all to visit the Tanguar Haor.

Beauty of Boga Lake











Boga Lake : The highest hill-enclaved lake of Bangladesh




 Boga Lake is the most beautiful natural lake at Bandarban in Bangladesh.She has also another name,that is "Bagakain Lake".

This lake located 18 kilometer away from Ruma Sadar Upozilla in Bandarban.This lake is about 15 acres. It is about 2700-3000 feet above sea level.

Boga lake is the highest hill-enclaved lake of Bangladesh. On top of the Bandarban hills this beautiful, small, natural, sweet water lake was created almost 2000 years back.Many mythological stories behind the creation of this lake.Experts says that it was created by collection of rain water in the crater of a dead volcano.Local people believe that this lake was the home of a dragon god.

The water colour is blue and very nice of this lake. After the monsoon, when totalthing on hills becomes   lavishly green, this lake turns into a real beauty.That time it's look like a natural Heaven.Winter season is the perfect time to visit the lake cause road from Ruma to Boga lake is still under construction. You will definitely be pleased looking at the big rocks lying in and out of the Boga lake.In the lakeside places you can make a camp,that will be a mind-blowing memory in your busy life.

Kaptai Lake : Biggest artificial Lake in the south Asia






Kaptai Lake is  the largest man-made freshwater body in Bangladesh.This lake suitaded at Kaptai Upazela in Rangamati.  The natural queen, “Rangamati” is a district of Bangladesh in Chittagong division.This place is located at South-eastern side of Bangladesh. 

The area of Kapai lake is 11,000 km²,30m to deep. Kaptai Lake of Rangamati is one of the excellent tourist’s spots for the nature lovers. Kaptai Lake is the only place of the country to visit through out the year. It is an artificial Lake. Kaptai Lake is formed by Kaptai Dam  on the Karnaphuli River.
